| What
is a phone system, why install one and what are its benefits?
In simple terms, a phone system will comprise a central processor
(control box) that accepts a number of external incoming lines
and routes them to a number of phones around the house.
Once the house is structurally wired, the installation of
a phone system is straight forward and can provide many useful
benefits such as:-
|
Integration with door entry - to allow you
to answer the door from any phone in the house. |
| |
|
|
Intercom between rooms - also useful as
a baby monitor! |
| |
|
|
Full paging through all phones - help track
down the kids without having to shout up the stairs. |
| |
|
|
Access to multiple outside lines. |
| |
|
|
Automatic low cost routing - the system
chooses the most cost effective route for your outside
calls. |
| |
|
|
Many people have more than one incoming
line into their home. Digital lines can provide DDI (direct
dial inward) numbers to allow different members of the
household to have their own number whilst sharing an incoming
phone line. The Nanny's phone can be programmed to ring
throughout the house during the day, but only ring in
her bedroom during the evening. |

|
|
Door bells can ring on all phones during the day, but
during the night only ring in the main lounge and master
bedroom. |

You can mix and match regular telephones (including
cordless) and proprietary handsets on the system making
good use of your existing telephones.
We supply and install the Panasonic range of systems.
The systems come in a number of configuration options
starting with a small 2 line with 6 extensions unit.
Our most popular unit is the KXTA-624 that comes supplied
to take 3 incoming lines and 8 extensions. This can
easily be upgraded to take 6 incoming lines and upto
24 extensions. |
Telephone Lines
As part of our service, we can also deal with organising the
installation of new phone lines. We have direct access to
a "one-point" contact through Telefonica to allow
us to order services on our customers behalf and then co-ordinate
the installation process.
Door entry
The BPT Nova monitor is a discrete and stylish 2"
colour LCD display with intercom. Not much bigger that a regular
13A double socket, it is a huge improvement over its large
and unsightly predecessors. Whilst these units can work as
a stand-alone system, we usually link them into the TV distribution
system, allowing callers at the front door to be viewed on
these tiny monitors or on any TV around the house. With our
more advanced installations, they can even pop-up as small
picture-in-picture on your TV set when the front door bell
is pressed. |
